All management of this site is carried out by the owner, including data protection management.
Making A Contract With Us
When submitting an order to Rachel Lucie Designs, you are entering into a contract with us to supply you with handmade jewellery items as described in the product details.
By placing an order with us, you have agreed to and read these terms, including privacy and refund policies.
Our contract with you will become binding upon our acceptance of your order by email.
In the rare circumstance of the product you ordered not being available, or if there has been a pricing error, we will contact you as soon as possible to discuss the appropriate action (e.g. full refund, a substitute product incurring a part refund or extra payment as required).
Our terms and conditions have been written to comply with current UK legislation and advice provided by www.gov.uk.
Contracts with Rachel Lucie Designs are subject to UK Law.
Placing An Order
To order from our website, simply add the items you desire to the cart. Items you no longer require can be removed from your cart at any time before checkint out.
You are required to pay for goods in full at the time of ordering ('checkout').
Promotional prices only apply during the period stated.
Rachel Lucie Designs processes all orders in GBP.
Please contact us if your order is urgent, as we will do our best to make it more quickly for you if possible.

Our jewellery is hand made, often to order, and will normally be dispatched within 2-5 working days. This also applies to Special Delivery.
Dispatch times provided are an estimate, which can change without notice. However, we will endeavour to contact you if there is an expected delay to your order being sent out.
We will email you to confirm dispatch of your order. You can then expect your item to arrive within 1-4 working days after receiving your confirmation for UK addresses or longer for International orders. We take every care to ensure your order reaches you safely, and in a timely manner.
For custom orders, you will be given an estimated dispatch time when the design details are finalized. Some semi-precious stone beads may be sourced from other countries, and this may affect the completion date.
In some instances, your order may arrive in more than one delivery, this will be at no extra charge.
Items are delivered to the shipping address you specify when ordering. Please ensure your address details are correct as we cannot be held responsible for non-delivery of orders when incorrect address details have been provided by the customer.
We will not accept responsibility for loss or damage if you instruct the delivery company to leave your goods unattended.
Please check your items on delivery and any goods found to be missing or damaged should be notified to us immediately in writing so we can resolve the issue to your satisfaction quickly.
A paper confirmation of your order will be included in your delivery. This notifies you of the prices you have paid, our returns policy and includes a return address sticker. Please specify in the 'special message' box when ordering if you would prefer this to be a gift receipt without prices, you can also add a gift message that will be included on the invoice.

Delivery charges, if applicable, will be shown once the delivery address is entered during checkout. If more than one service is available to your destination, you will then be able to select your preference.
We use Royal Mail delivery services, but reserve the right to use another service without prior warning, if we deem it more suitable in rare circumstances. You will be notified if this results in higher delivery charges.
Overseas delivery estimates: 3-5 working days to Europe, 5-7 working days to rest of world.

Returns & Refunds
Our aim is complete customer satisfaction, however, should you be unhappy with any aspect of our service or products, or change your mind, please read our terms below:
If you change your mind
In accordance with Consumer Contract Regulations 2014 (CCR), you must contact us in writing within 14 working days of your receipt of the goods to request a refund if you change your mind. This can be by email or letter.
A refund will be carried out by us within 14 days of us receiving items back safely.
Please see exceptions below.
If your product is faulty
If you product is faulty, you can request a refund as per the Consumer Rights Act 2015. You must contact us within reasonable time scale.
We will need to assess the situation before agreeing a course of action. This may mean we ask you to provide an accurate photo of the items, or return them to us.
In most cases a full refund, exchange or repair will be offered (depending on the time scale), this will be dealt with on a case by case basis.
We will refund any return delivery costs.
If a refund is agreed
You must return the goods to us within 14 days of notifying us, failure to do so is a breach of your statutory duty, and you may be charged recovery costs.
Returns must be securely wrapped, preferable in the original packaging. It is your statutory duty to take reasonable care of the goods, until they are received by us.
A refund will be carried out by us within 14 days of receiving them back safely.
We also recommend returning by Royal Mail special delivery as any damages or losses incurred during return may mean we are unable to refund you.
Refund will include our basic postage cost of getting the goods to you in the first place. If enhanced service was chosen at during checkout, this extra cost will not be refunded.
The refund process means money can only be refunded to the source originally used to pay. For credit card sales, this will be the exact card which was used. For Paypal customers, this will be refunded into the customer's Paypal account (rather then the credit card used to pay through Paypal).
We regret that for hygiene reasons earrings cannot be returned/refunded, unless faulty.
We regret that custom or bespoke goods (where jewellery is made to order to design agreed between Rachel Lucie Designs and the customer) cannot be returned or refunded, unless faulty.
For any items judged to be damaged due to improper use or when reasonable care has not been taken by the customer, Rachel Lucie Designs may claim against the customer for damages and breach of statutory duty. This does not affect the customer's right to a full refund.

Privacy, Data Handling & Security
Rachel Lucie Jewellery Designs is working towards GDPR compliance in handling your personal data, beginning on 25th May 2018. This privacy information has been updated on 25th May 2018.
Your privacy and security are very important to us and we never share your name, email, delivery address or any other details with any other party excluding those involved in the checkout process. Please read the details below.
We act as a controller of relevant information to enable use to process your order. By placing an order with us, you have given clear consent for this to occur. Our processors are all GDPR compliant, they are: Shopify ECommerce Solutions, PayPal (Europe) S.a.r.l. and MailChimp.
We have no access to any of your financial details (e.g. bank account or credit card information) during any part of the checkout process. Basic personal details that directly relate to processing your order are available to us, and these are provided by you during checkout. These are: your name, email, telephone number (optional) and the billing/delivery addresses.
The personal details relating to your order are never stored on a local computer or printed out to be held by us. They are held online in our PCI DSS compliant merchant services (detailed below) and are printed off as an order invoice to be sent out with your order. Any copies printed in error shredded and disposed of by us.
Rachel Lucie will only contact you on matters arising directly from you order, or to reply to correspondence from you, and not for any other purposes (unless you have opted in to our mailing list, see below).
It is your right to ask us to provide you with any information that we hold about you, such as copies of orders or emails free of charge at any time.
We accept all major credit cards using the fully PCI DSS compliant secure checkout and card processing services provided by Shopify ECommerce Solutions and PayPal (Europe) S.a.r.l. Please refer directly to either company for information about their privacy policies and terms.
Shopify hosts our website cart, checkout service, and non-Paypal credit/debit card processing. Upon checking out, you will be taken to this secure page https://checkout.shopify.com/carts where Shopify will process your credit/debit card payment on our behalf.
If you prefer, you can choose Paypal during checkout instead. You do not need a Paypal account to pay via Paypal. Rachel Lucie Johns is a Paypal Verified Business Account holder.
You will be returned to rachellucie.co.uk after completing payment of your order via either service.

Our mailing list is a newsletter available to subscribers on an opt-in basis only and is provided by MailChimp. If you have chosen to join our mailing list, the email address you provide will not be passed on to any other companies and will only be used by us as stated, that is, infrequent emails about new products, news etc. You will be required to validate your sign-up before being added to the mailing list (called 'double opt-in'). You are in charge of your subscription and can unsubscribe at any time, should you change your mind.
We also run a mailing-list for the blog, so that you can receive updates straight into your inbox. This is a separate list, and subscribing to this does not mean you will be added to my shop email list or vica versa. This is also run by MailChimp, and only your name and email address is collected. This will never be passed on to a third party.
You do not need to have an account to buy products from Rachel Lucie Designs, you may checkout as a 'guest'.
If you would like to set up an account to save time when ordering in the future, you can either do this either by clicking 'register' in the top menu or after placing your first order.
You are responsible for keeping your account details, such as billing and shipping addresses up to date. If you choose Paypal to complete your order payment, it is your responsibility to ensure your Paypal address details are up to date, as these will be used for your order.
Rachel Lucie Designs, like all websites, uses 'cookies' (small text files) to store information on your computer, both to help our site function properly and to give you the very best experience. You will be asked if you want to accept cookies when you first visit our site.
Some cookies are essential, and the site won't work as expected without them. These kinds of cookies are set when you submit a form, add an item to the cart, login or interact with the site by doing something that goes beyond clicking on simple links.
We also use some non-essential 'session' cookies to track visitors or enhance your experience of the site. These cookies are temporary and used to collect data anonymously for web analytics and social sharing services. These do not collect any personal data about you, we do not store them and do not have direct access to the individual data collected.

VAT & Import Duty
No VAT is added as Rachel Lucie Designs is currently not a VAT registered company.
Import duties or taxes may be incurred by your if ordering for delivery to a country outside of the UK. Rachel Lucie Designs is not responsible for any import duties or tax which may be applicable in your country.

Handmade Silver & Rolled Gold Jewellery
Sterling silver jewellery handmade by Rachel Lucie which may feature pre-made components such as chains, charms or clasps.
Some items are now made using rolled gold which is 50 times thicker than normal gold plating and guaranteed for frequent use for many years without wear.
Jewellery is not hallmarked as the silver components are below the weight at which hallmarking is required by UK Law. Individual component items (above) may contain a '925' mark.
Other parts of the jewellery will be semi-precious, freshwater pearl, glass or other types of beads. Oxidized designs use liver of sulphur to darken the surface of the silver, which is then cleaned and polished by hand.
Blank cards printed in the UK on FSC certified 70 mix 300gsm paper. They are sold with an envelope, sealed in cellophane wrapper. They can be added as a gift card with any order, with your own message.
High quality 80 page notebooks with elastic ribbon closure, made and printed in Europe.
Descriptions & Photos
We ask that you pay close attention to the measurements provided in each product's description for a true idea of the actual size of your jewellery when it arrives. Close up pictures are provided to allow you to clearly see our jewellery and this can make items look bigger than they really are.
Photographs may be of the actual item you will receive, or what we deem to be a close reproduction of that product if more than one has been made. Due to the irregularities in gemstones themselves, and the handmade nature of Rachel's work, we reserve the right to sell items with minor differences (such as individual bead substitutions) to the products photographed.
Whilst we consider that our photographs accurately show the colours of the jewellery displayed on our website, they cannot be guaranteed 100% accurate, as this will vary depending on your individual computer's display settings.
Whilst we try to be as accurate as possible, all information provided is approximate and is given in good faith.

All our jewellery is beautifully packaged, ready to give as a gift. Carefully wrapped in tissue paper, in an organza bag as shown here, and it will come complete with a branded tag. A gift box made from recycled card is available on request.
